Reflecting on 2008

Wow...I can't believe 2008 is almost over. A HUGE thanks to my clients new and past...each and every one of you. You've made 2008 a wonderful year for me. Although the economy is in the trash right now...2008 will be a memorable year for me. I've had two marvelous vacations in one year. Two weeks traveling and sightseeing in North Carolina...the mountains, the beach...it was marvelous! It was bittersweet leaving Dalton at Wake Forest...it was so terribly hard to do, yet such an exciting time for him. He has made us all very proud of him. He is hoping to return next summer...just don't know if Mom can do it again! It gave us a wonderful excuse to take a family vacation...I'm hoping he wants to study in Hawaii next year! HA HA. Then my trip to D.C. a huge thank you to Sarah for that one. I had a blast...even when I had to play photographer! I generally do not like to be away from home or my family...however this trip was loaded with so much to keep me entertained I barely even noticed I was gone. Matt and Sarah are the best host and hostess ever. She insists I return again in April for a special event and make it an annual trip in November. I think I'd be pressing my luck with the family if I leave for another week! I met so many neat people...even a few famous and important ones. Extremely exciting for a small town girl from KS!

Even with me being gone this year...my business has done well and it's all due to my wonderful clients. It really means a lot to me that you trust me to capture those memories. The relationships that I have formed with some of my clients makes everything I do all worth it. I have had a passion for photography since I was young.....and for me to capture moments in time for so many people is very satisfying and rewarding. Of course there are the normal everyday pitfalls of business and that can be very frustrating. Some days it's even enough to push you over the edge...then thru the grace of God he blesses me by turning everything around. Through Him I'm able to capture those special moments...seeing the reaction on the face of a mom or dad is priceless.... and then I remember why I do what I do.

I would like to wish each and everyone of my blog readers and clients a Happy New Year. It's been pretty wild the last couple of months and I have not had a chance to update my blog as often as I would like. However, keep your eyes open and come back often. I have really good intentions (no laughing!) to keep it updated more often and I have some special things coming to the studio in 2009. May God bless you and enrich your lives in 2009!
